It’s a lighthouse built from 1914 to 1936, in a spot even harder to reach than La Jument. It’s made of stone and concrete. Behind it are two towers which were planned to be used to carry a zip-line to send supplies and keepers to the lighthouse. This kind of worked between 1936 and 1940, when all lighthouses in the area were shut off by the German army. Even then the metal of the zip-line had started to rust and it broke, and was never put back to use. Various ways to resupply it were then used, up to an helicopter landing platform built atop the lantern in the 1970s. Then the lighthouse was fitted with solar panels and batteries, and is now self-sufficient.

It must have been quite crazy to travel from the island to the lighthouse on the zip-line, above crashing waves and in the wind.
In the back, on the island, the black and white striped lighthouse is the very powerful Créac’h lighthouse.
