Coming up along the coastal trail, a dark block dots the summit of the lowest part of the Lostmarc’h head. This block is what remains of an oppidum from the iron age (between 2500 and 2000 years ago).

En marchant le long du sentier côtier, on aperçoit un bloc sombre au sommet de la partie basse de la pointe de Lostmarc’h. Ce bloc est tout ce qui reste d’un oppidum de l’âge de fer (datant d’il y a 2500 à 2000 ans).

As the head is linked to the coast by a passage about 10–20 m wide, this passage was partially blocked with soil levees, and a few fortified buildings were built on the head. A nearby community could take refuge in this easily defended place in case of attack.

Comme la pointe est reliée à la côte par un passage d’environ 10–20 m de large, ce passage a été partiellement bloqué par des levées de terre, et quelques bâtiments fortifiés ont été construits sur la pointe. Une communauté proche pouvait se réfugier dans cet endroit facile à défendre en cas d’attaque.
