Wrac’h island during a king tide

Île Wrac’h pendant une grande marée

Wrac’h islands - Îles Wrac’h

In Brittany, difference between low and high tides means a few meters of water in or out, especially during king tides. Here are the big and small Wrac’h islands, with the Île Vierge lighthouse in the back. The water is very high, close to high tide on a king tide day.

Small Wrac’h island - Petite île Wrac’h

On the small Wrac’h island above, the house has its walls in the water. On the big island below, the lighthouse fence is quite close to it. There’s enough water to sail between these islands and the shore, where you’d usually be able to walk. Concerts are held on these islands, the time is according to tides, maybe you’re not allowed to many encores as you wouldn’t be able to walk back.
