At the entrance of the harbour, there are wild currents even on a very calm summer day. A rock called La Cormorandière breaks the flow of the sea inside the harbour, and swirls appear at the surface of the flat water. The rock is named after the European shags (cormorants) which use it to roost.

À l’entrée de la rade, il y a des courants turbulents même un jour d’été très calme. Un rocher appelé La Cormorandière coupe le flux de la mer vers la rade, et des spirales apparaissent à la surface d’une mer d’huile. Les cormorans utilisent ce rocher comme perchoir.
