Pen Duick is a yacht belonging to the family of Éric Tabarly. Built in 1898 on a William Fife III cutter design, named Yum, it changed names a few times before becoming Pen Duick (black head in breton, the name of the great tit). Although it had been left unmaintained, Éric Tabarly refused to sell it and saved the rotten hull by molding it in plastic. Tabarly often sailed Pen Duick all his life, and died on it when he was knocked overboard in 1998.

Pen Duick est un yacht appartenant à la famille d’Éric Tabarly. Construit en 1898 sur des plans de William Fife III, nommé Yum, il a changé de nom plusieurs fois avant de devenir Pen Duick (tête noire en breton, le nom de la mésange charbonnière). Bien qu’il ait été laissé sans soins, Éric Tabarly refusa de le vendre et sauva la coque pourrie en la moulant en plastique. Tabarly a navigué sur Pen Duick durant toute sa vie, et est mort sur ce bateau quand il fut jeté par dessus bord en 1998.
